PAVI Student Makes Electronic Charts

Third semester PAVI student Stef Soma has hit Reverbnation’s Electronic charts with his project “ShaMANoiD”.  The album is number one locally in Vancouver, number 3 in Canada and number 16 globally.

Stef journeyed from the UK to Vancouver and enrolled at the Pacific Audio Visual Institute in May of last year.  He has been busy in the PAVI studios working on the ShaMANoid project by recording all manner of world instruments and blending them with electronic music.

The ShaMANoiD is the bridge between the ancient spiritual and ancestral worlds of the Shaman and the magic in the technology of the future. A fusion of cutting edge electronica and acoustic tribal, ethnic and world music.

ShaMANoiD's music was initially created especially for the SomaSoundSystem, which organised unique and secret Electro Tribal Gatherings at sacred sites in Mexico. Such as on top of Mayan temples, inside sacred caves (cenotes), deserts jungles and volcanoes to coincide with special celestial dates. (full moons, equinoxes, eclipses etc)

ShaMANoiD is created by British producer Stef Soma, whom also created and is known as Divine Soma Experiment, the SomaSoundSystem and DJ Soma. The act has toured Japan, China, Bali, Thailand, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Canada, UK, France, Switzerland, Spain and most of Western Europe, playing festivals and other 'underground' venues.

ShaMANoiD's live shows are in 5.1 surround sound and employ use of dramatic and dynamic synchronization of visual effects and projections. All music (stereo format only) has been freely available from ShaMANoiD.com. One will have to go to a live show to truly experience the ShaMANoiD's mind-blowing live environment.
