Film & Music Business and Film & Digital Arts Instructor Kate Green wins Crazy 8’s Film Award
Kate is the producer of the Crazy 8 award winning film ‘Funny Business’ written by Andrew Templeton and directed by Russell Bennett.
Kate brings over 15 years of experience working in theatre, film and television as a producer, director, writer, and actor working in both fiction and non-fiction genres. Kate's work ranges from documentaries like Raid the North Extreme (GLOBAL) to comedic shorts like Crosswords. She has worked as an assistant director on the reality television series Crash Test Mommy (SLICE), as a Story Coordinator on Anna & Kristina's Beauty Call (W Network) and as a Producer/Director on Season 13 & 14 of The New Driver's Seat (CHUM), The Canadian Rally Championships (CITY TV) and Discovering Great Towns. Kate is currently in development on Henry - a 2011 winner of the National Screen Institutes Drama Prize.

- 120 filmmakers signed up to present their short film idea in a 5-minute video.
- 42 semi-finalists pitched in person to a jury of industry professionals.
- 13 finalists honed their scripts with a professional story editor.
Now the 6 winners will have 8 days and $800 to make their films.
Finished films will be screened at a gala event at the Vogue Theatre on April 9, 2011.
