Lyle Chauss of EMI Music Canada Holds Interactive Lecture for PAVI FMB Class
Lyle Chausse from EMI music held an interactive lecture with the students of the Film & Music Business class.
Quotes Lyle, "I have worked for CFOX FM doing specialty shows and an independently produced and conducted Metal Radio show at CFOX, off and on for over 20 years. I still consult CFOX and guest host on regularly. From there I went on to be a concert producer for what is now known as Live Nation, producing concerts for some of the biggest acts in the world and right down to club club shows across Western Canada.
From 1999-2007, I was at Sony Music Canada - Media Relations, and Promotions Manager.
2008 - present. I now do the same job for EMI Music Canada (Virgin Records and Capitol Records and their affiliated labels)
When I go to PAVI to speak, my goal is not so much to represent a corporation, but to represent my experiences in the past 25 years of music...to answer the students questions as well as possible.
The important thing I hope to get across is that this is a business, not a charity. I want people to get aggressive about making the best music and opportunity around music to make money for the artists and people around them, so that they in turn can make money too."
