Drummer From Devin Townsend Project Teaches Drum Tuning at PAVI

Canadian metal drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen taught a drum tuning and recording clinic to the evening Audio Engineering & Production students. 

Ryan Van Poederooyen is a drummer for the progressive metal band The Devin Townsend Project. They just completed a North American headlining tour and recording of a new album “Deconstruction”.  The album is to be released in March, 2011 on Townsend's independent record label HevyDevy Records.

Ryan Said, “To get a great drum sound you need quality drums, a talented player and solid tuning.  I know lots of drummers who DON'T know how to tune kits properly!  If you can tune and understand drums, you are one step ahead as an engineer. I think this class is a great idea."
