PAVI Instructor, Students, Grads make Film for Contest in 48 Hours!
The Celluloid Social Club is a monthly, independent short film screening and networking event held at the ANZA Club in Vancouver, BC, directly across the street from PAVI. To celebrate Halloween, CSC presented the sixth annual “Blood Shots” 48-Hour Horror Filmmaking Contest. On October 24th, 25 Teams of filmmakers fought against the clock to make the best horror film they possibly can. PAVI students were up to the task and successfully wrote a script, shot the film and edited it by working around the clock. “Rig Amore” met the contest deadline with 7 minutes to spare. Students were exhausted but had a great weekend and learned a lot about guerrilla filmmaking. The entry films were screened at the October 29th, Celluloid Social Club event. There were celebrity judges, fabulous prizes, and more fake blood than Sam Raimi can make shoot out of the wall in an abandoned cabin somewhere in Tennessee.
