Game Design & 3D Animation

The Game Industry is booming. In 2008 video games sales soared to a record $22 billion. It currently employs over 300,000 and as the market grows there is increased demand for skilled game designers. Consider the popularity of games like Warcraft and Grand Theft Auto. On its first day of release, Grand Theft Auto IV sold nearly 3.7 million copies. Game technologies are changing with each successive hardware generation. PAVI’s Game Design & 3D Animation diploma program provides the experience, software and production skills today’s Game Industry requires.

Vancouver is a 'hotbed' of game design and production. Home to internationally renowned developers like Electronic Arts, Disney and Radical Entertainment, B.C. has nearly 700 gaming companies with combined annual revenues of over $1 billion. PAVI’s 'Game Design & 3D Animation' program delivers an overview of the entire process for making a computer or video game. Students learn the technical and creative skills and the project management and planning required to produce a modern computer game from start to finish.

Game Design & 3D Animation is a one-year, three-semester program that is a combination of classroom, hands-on instruction, location classes and guest speakers. The program includes 12 courses that are modular in design, with four courses taught per semester. Each student works on an individual state-of-the art classroom computer terminal loaded with all necessary software. We also offer Internship Placement Assistance. Students participating gain practical experience in the industry.
