Pacific Audio Visual Institute
is accredited with the Private Post-Secondary
Education Commission of British Columbia. Currently
we offer one-year diploma programs in Audio Engineering
& Production, Film & Digital Arts and
Film & Music Business. We differ from other
schools in that we teach within the environment
of operating, full-service, world-class recording
studios and a film studio complex.

equipment available today. Our program focuses
on developing the general knowledge, skills and
technical expertise required to achieve successful

Audio Engineering & Production
This program encompasses the
subjects taught in both recording schools and
music production schools. We incorporate in-depth
training in audio engineering, music recording,
sound engineering, live sound and digital audio
work stations utilizing our state-of-the-art recording
studios. Breaks, beats, loops, grooves, sampling,
electronic and new music are all explored.
Film & Digital Arts
This program curriculum has

cover film making, film production, video production,
digital film editing, screenwriting for film and
TV, film directing, film producing, film financing,
videography, cinematography, contracts & union
law, film history, film set and TV set skills,

are covered from a financial and legal viewpoint.
In the film sector we cover film industry jobs,
promotion, basic film making, film financing,

portion includes concert promotion, entertainment
business skills, music industry contracts, record
production, artist management, artist development,
music festivals, an introduction to the recording
